How is filling the expression lines ?
The procedure for filling expression lines can be done with our own fat or with hyaluronic acid. If the patient decides to perform infiltration with fat, it must be performed under local anesthesia in the area of minor surgery procedures. Only the fat necessary for the infiltration of the expression lines is extracted by liposuction. It is important to clarify that you only take a reduced amount of fat, only the necessary one, that is why a difference in the donor area would not be aesthetically evident, unless it is combined with a liposuction.
If it is decided to perform the filling with hyaluronic acid, this is done in the office, since the hyaluronic acid is prepared to be injected in the area of the wrinkle.
How long should I spend hospitalized ?
If fat infiltration is performed, it is an outpatient procedure, so after a few hours you can return home. If infiltration with hyaluronic acid is performed, the procedure is office, not needing hospitalization.
What to expect next ?
The patient may experience some inflammation of the infiltrated area, which will gradually disappear, small bruises may occur that will disappear during the first week.
The infiltrated fat can be reabsorbed, studies have estimated said reabsorption of 20 to 80%, depending very much on each patient. With regard to Hyaluronic acid its effects last approximately 9 months.
How long is the filling of expression lines ?
If the filling is done with fat, the surgery lasts approximately one hour. On the other hand, if it is decided to perform the filling with hyaluronic acid the procedure takes minutes.
